Fernanda Rege was born in 1973 in Buenos Aires, where she lives and produces her visual artwork.
She addresses the experience of migration in her artistic practices. Her images encapsulate silences, voids and multitudes wandering without destination as well as impossible maps that tension the origin of modern western cartography itself.
This experimentation process with sensitive materials like teabags creates meaning through visual metaphors that explain the vulnerability and fragility of the beings that inhabit the world.
She built herself as an artist in workshops and art clinics coordinated by Ariel Mlynarzcewics, Verónica Llobet, Claudio Gallina, Emilia Demichelis, Andrés Labaké, Alejandro Thornton, Ana Gallardo, among others.
She is currently in process of writing her thesis for the Master’s Degree in Visual Arts Curatorship at the National University of Tres de Febrero (UNTREF).
She was part of the curatorial team led by Jorge Zuzulich in “The image that overflows” (La imagen que desborda) (MUNTREF).
She participated in the 8th Artist’s Book Hall of the Fuegian Art Museum. She was selected to open the 2022 calendar of the Provincial Art Museum of La Pampa with the exposition “Remap the world” (Recartografiar el mundo), as well as by the Municipal Hall Lidaura Chapitel of San Martín de los Andes.
